Bruce Nagel is a world renowned architect expanding his work across commercial, hospitality, institutional and residential. He has worked on many celebrated projects, such as the Faneuil Hall Marketplace project at Benjamin Thompson and Associates in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as project architect for several residential and institutional projects with Richard Meier & Partners, as senior associate at Gwathmey Siegel and Associates where he worked on numerous public and private award-winning projects, and John Pawson as the Executive Architect on the Montauk House. He also previously aught architecture at the Boston Architectural Center. Since that time, he has served as guest critic and juror at the architecture schools of several leading universities, including Columbia, Yale, Harvard, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

The Ask:
Develop a new brand identity for a world-renowned architect that stands out among both local and global competitors. Given Bruce Nagel's background and experience, we knew we had to creat a brand that felt innovative, functional, and timeless.

The Solution:
Phase one was to conduct in-depth discussions with Bruce and his team to comprehend their design philosophy, values, target audience, and aspirations for the brand. We then gathered inspiration from architectural elements, iconic structures, historical references, and contemporary design trends that then drove us to explore various design styles, from modern and minimalist to intricate and ornate. Like every other logo development project we then started by brainstorming and sketching initial logo concepts, experimenting with variations, and exploring different approaches while focusing on simplicity and scalability.

For typography and color, we chose a font that complements the architectural teams aesthetic—a clean and modern typeface that conveys professionalism and sophistication. We then selected a color palette that resonates with their brand personality—neutral tones like greys and earthy hues paired with a saturated blood orange used as an accent color for visual interest.
